Arlington: Too Much For Words

· by wendy · united statesvirginia

We returned from our East Coast road trip weeks ago. We visited many cities during our trip but yet I couldn’t get a post done about just the second city, Washington D.C. Here’s where I got stuck…. Arlington National Cemetery.

We toted our cameras around and admired our surroundings. Then, a funeral procession would go and we would be shocked out of tourist mode into a harsh reality, THIS PLACE IS STILL ACTIVE.

We felt small.

We felt humbled.

I’m not the type of person that can elaborate very well about something so important. I’m terrible at sensitive and bigger than life stuff. I feel like the words don’t mean enough. I can’t do Arlington justice.

Thank you to our military for your bravery and keeping us safe.
