No Diseases Contracted In The Making Of This Blog Post

Why is everybody such a wuss? When sharing about how great our Fourth of July weekend was, we received skeptical looks accompanied by phrases like “Won’t you get a disease?” and “Eww, you swam in that?”

Please. It’s fine. You’ll be fine. Everybody is fine.

You know what it is…those whiners are just jealous because they weren’t invited.

We joined our roommate Keith, who has a fabulous boat, on the Ohio River on 4th of July weekend. It may seem weird to those of you who are used to boats on lakes, but hanging on the river is fun, too. I’d venture to say more fun than a boring ol’ lake.

What’s most fun about boats on rivers is hanging out with gymnasts on boats on rivers. Everyone should flip. It’s just too much fun not to.

We pulled up outside Riverbend Music Center which sits on the bank of the Ohio River and parked for the day. Usually, we park here to listen in on Rascal Flats, Dave Matthews or Jimmy Buffet concerts. Can’t find that on a lake! On this occasion we parked here all day to get a good view of the Fourth of July fireworks at Coney Island.

The best part…no diseases were contracted from the river water that day. Do people honestly think that will happen or do they just want to rain on our parade? My guess is that you’d be more likely to see a body float by, but heck we’ve already witnessed that before. We’re so worldly and experienced aren’t we?
